Agent/Client/Community Relationship
The agent/client/community relationship or "A.C.C" is the main difference between a Real Estate agent and a socially and environmentally conscious agent. By opening up to a fundamental change in priorities and attitude, the A.C.C takes place. Putting primary focus on more than immediate financial gain and client satisfaction, the agent is able to find a home for the client and a means for the client to get settled into the local community, save on expenses, and live in a more sustainable way. How can a Real Estate agent afford to think about more than personal financial gain?
The question is, how can a Real Estate agent afford not to?
No matter how much an agent spends on personal marketing there is no (affordable) amount of money in a referral based industry like Real Estate that can replace the value of good old fashioned word of mouth advertising. The Real Estate agent can financially afford to think beyond the bottom line by spending more time on the quality of their service, which in time will create more value. There is less money in the short term, but more in the long term. A quality based service uniquely tailored to benefit the client and the community concurrently does not exist everywhere, thus, if the service is what it claims to be, it will be talked about and people will request it. The focus is not on harvesting quick cash, but on creating a symbiotic relationship between the agent, client, and the community where all benefit gainfully in the equation.
It is not traditionally a Real Estate agent's job to function as a community awareness guide, however, there is no specific profession in the community that guides new residents through the massive amount of choices that awaits them. On top of finding the client a home and providing Real Estate services, the agent, working as an ambassador to the community, helps to introduce the client to local businesses, community projects, community organizations, and all things local with the permission and the discretion of the client. The A.C.C helps to restore community bonds with clients and local and green businesses by allowing these businesses a "first chance" at creating a relationship with our clients.
Austin Green Lease strives to make this possible in the following ways:
-Provides the "Austin Green Card" to all clients.
-Provides a free "orientation" to introduce clients to all things local
-Promotes local and green businesses in orientations of neighborhoods
-Provides advice and assistance to clients who transition from a mainstream to local lifestyle
-Makes donations to community organizations
The proliferation of the large corporate American box stores and the billions they have paid to promote quick, fast, and easy convenience based consumption has replaced the relationship residents have with their local businesses. Consumer habits and routines are often built with businesses that exist on every corner, rather than small and local businesses that cater toward quality, reliability, and personal relationships. Supporting local businesses means money stays within the community, products require less fuel to get to the community, and community relationships can be made and maintained. Keeping the money in the community and not in the pocket of a CEO living in another state who has no care or attachment to the community should be every resident's cause for concern. Keeping the community tight knit and the relationships between residents and local businesses open and healthy is fundamental to residents having control over their community. The agent/client/community relationship is Autin Green Lease's contribution to positive community impact, one home, one client at a time.
